Music/Band/Choir

Music

Students in Prek through 5th grade receive classroom musical instruction for 60 minutes a week. In addition to learning religious and non-secular songs, students learn about composers, famous musicians, instruments and how to read music.

Choir

Students at St. Philomena School have the opportunity to join the 6th-8th grade choir which sings at school Masses or the 3rd-5th grade choir which sings at St. Philomena School parish Masses once a month.

Band

St. Philomena School has two band programs, an Advanced Band for students in grades 6-8 and a Beginning Band for students in 5th grade. The Band program is run in collaboration with Kennedy High School under the direction of Miss Frances McKamey.
