LIBRARY MISSION STATEMENT FOR ST. PHILOMENA SCHOOL
Our mission is to provide highly responsive service to the whole community of St. Philomena, including the students, staff, and parents. We strive to inform, enrich, and empower every student and community member by creating and providing free and easy access to a vast array of ideas and information and by supporting lifelong learning and love of reading. We acquire, organize, and provide a wide variety of children's literature, Catholic resources, as well as other relevant library materials, and serve the St. Philomena community with expert and caring assistance. If you have a question, concern, or comment about our library, materials, or service, please submit it in written form to our librarian. The librarian, principal, and/or vice-principal will be happy to respond to your concern by meeting with you.

The school library and computer lab of St. Philomena operate as a working center to incorporate the programs and materials into an ongoing curriculum and operational program. Materials are purchased to supplement and enhance both curricular and extracurricular subjects. Books are checked out for a two-week period. There will be a charge for lost books. Audio-visual materials are for use within the school building. Courtesy and respect are expected from the students for all library helpers; any infringement of this rule will result in suspension of library privileges for that student for a period of time. Library conduct is expected to maintain an atmosphere of quiet and concentration.
