Gloria Strauss Scholarship Fund
St. Philomena School has established the “Gloria Strauss Scholarship”. This scholarship is established in the name of Gloria Strauss, which will provide tuition assistance to students whose families are in dire financial or personal circumstances that threaten or prevent their access to a Catholic education. Families will need to apply for assistance and the awarding of financial assistance will be done by a special scholarship committee.
For those of you who knew Gloria and the story of her courageous four year battle with Neuroblastoma cancer that began when she was just 7 years old, the establishment of this scholarship in her honor is especially exciting news. It means that the grace of Gloria’s life and journey will continue to shine in the lives of many more children in the future, giving them an opportunity for stability, spiritual nourishment, and a sound Catholic education as their families weather the challenges that life sometimes brings.

St. Philomena's School Annual Campaign
We will be kicking off an annual campaign in the fall of 2012. This campaign will be both a mail and phone-a-thon ask in which we will solicit financial donations from St. Philomena parents, grandparents, family members, alumni and parishioners. We will also be asking local community members to support St. Philomena School. A percentage of the annual campaign will go directly to the school’s operating budget and have a direct impact of the students and the education they will receive. The remaining percentages can be directed to the Gloria Strauss Scholarship, the St. Philomena School Endowment and/or the St. Philomena School Alumni Fund.
Endowment Fund
The St. Philomena School Endowment Fund is a fund that ensures the financial sustainability and will help St. Philomena School have a long and prosperous future. This specialized fund currently is invested through the Archdiocese of Seattle, with hopes of reaching a balance of 1 million dollars by 2014.Alumni Fund
The St. Philomena School Alumni Fund is being established to help families who attended St. Philomena School and want their children to attend the school. We will be having an alumni event in February 2012, watch for more details.
