Ash Wednesday

Wednesday, March 1st is Ash Wednesday. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent. We will be having Mass at 8:45 AM, hosted by the 7th grade class. There will be the distribution of ashes at Mass, all students will receive ashes at Mass. The distribution of ashes reminds us of our own mortality and calls us to repentance. Additionally on Ash Wednesday, we fast (having only one full meal a day and smaller snacks to keep up one's strength) and abstain from meat.
If you can not attend the school Mass, St. Philomena Parish will be having Ash Wednesday Masses at 6;30 AM, 7:30 AM, 6:00 PM (Bilingual) and 8:00 PM (Spanish).
