Parent Contract meeting

The Budget Committee has been hard at work over the past month working on next year’s budget. We will be presenting the information at the Parent Contract meeting. This is a mandatory meeting for all school families that will be returning for the 2024-2025 school year. The meeting is Thursday, March 7th at 7:00 PM in the hall. Childcare will be provided. There will also be a light dinner served by the PEP Club. Please put this date on your calendar.

Please remember that the Budget Committee along with the support of the School Commission has made the decision to phase out the multi-child discount for the 2024-2025 school year; this was discussed and announced at last year’s Parent Contact meeting.

There will be a 6.5% tuition increase to balance the budget for the 2024-2025 school year. We are instituting a 5% salary increase plus we have an aging school building and need to deal with some facilities needs. We also have some curriculum expenses that we have to address.

After a lengthy discussion and looking at a variety of factors, we have decided to not do the Summer Camp program for the upcoming summer. The number of students attending the camp have been dwindling over the last two years and it has also lost money. We will be doing our summer school program and will open Kids’ Club during all 4 weeks of summer school. I know not having a summer camp program will affect childcare for some families, but we just can’t justify the costs of the program in regards to the overall school’s budget. I will provide more details at the Parent Contract meeting on summer camp.
