Our Paddle Raise at this year’s Auction is purchasing a new reading series. Based on the well-established educational research and our combined many years of professional experience, the staff at St. Philomena School has committed to improving and enhancing the reading curriculum in kindergarten through 5th grade by investing in a new reading textbook and electronic reading series. This program is a comprehensive literacy solution designed to meet the needs and challenges of today’s classroom and reach all learners. The program provides a wealth of research-based print and digital resources that help build and support strong literacy foundations, including a variety of intervention support to meet the needs of every student.

We humbly invite you to invest in the future success of our young students by helping to build their literary skills through this educationally-sound, research-based curriculum. Your donation is 100% tax deductible, but more importantly, is an investment in improving and increasing the foundational reading skills of your children. We thank you for your kindness and generosity!

Due to the pandemic, the annual scholarship fundraising event has unfortunately had to be canceled. Although we look forward to enjoying this event with you again in the future, this year, we are asking you to support our scholarship funds by donating through our virtual auction. Your donation may be tax deductible. Check with your tax advisor.

SCHOLARSHIP OPTIONS -- St. Philomena School has a long and proud tradition of honoring students and their families through several scholarship funds.

►MARILYN BYERS gave decades of dedicated service to the St. Philomena School community and its students as a master teacher. When she retired, the Marilyn Byers Alumni Scholarship Fund was established in her honor to assist alumni families who have returned to St. Phil’s, this time as school parents.

►ROBERT RUTH was a school parent, CYO coach, board member, parishioner, and husband of long-time St. Phil’s teacher, Mrs. Mary Ruth. After a short battle with cancer, Robert passed away five years ago. In his memory and in honor, the Robert Ruth Memorial Scholarship was established to assist student athletes in financial need.

►GLORIA STRAUSS was a beloved St. Philomena student who passed away after a heroic battle with neuro-blastoma cancer. The Gloria Strauss Memorial Scholarship assists students whose families are in need due to ill-ness or other personal or financial challenges.
