Spirit Week Activities

Do you have spirit?? Spirit Week will soon be upon us! Spirit Week is a special week of the school year in which students get to show off their school spirit and participate in different and fun activities. Spirit Week runs from Tuesday, May 28th through Friday, May 31st. Each day has a different dress theme and different activities.

Thurs., May 23rd: Kicking off Spirit Week!!

? The Student Council will be sponsoring a Spirit Assembly at 2:05 PM to kick-off Spirit Week.

? They will be selling Fanta Floats (Orange or Grape flavored pop with vanilla ice cream) at lunch for $1.00 each.


Tues., May 28th: Principal of the Day- 2nd grader Eiljah Braunworth

Theme chosen by Principal Elijah is Pokemon Rainbow Day

? Students can dress up in Pokemon shirts and or sweatshirts or they can wear a bright color or one that represents a rainbow, mix and match bright colors on their shirts and pants.

? The Used Book Sale starts today; all books will be .25 cents each.

  • Students will be playing Bingo at 2:15 PM.

? Next year’s Student Council will start their campaigning this week.

Wed. May 29th: Individual Homeroom Day

? Each homeroom will choose their own theme for this day. Your child’s teacher will let you know what the theme will be.

? Please join us at 1:30 PM for our annual Spelling Bee in the parish hall.

Thurs. May 30th Fire Vs. Ice Day

? Students need to choose a side either fire- think red, orange, hot or ice- think blue, white or cold and come up with their best costume that best represents either fire or ice

? Student Council voting will take place.

  • Please join us for the Lip Sync contest at 2:05 PM in the parish hall.

? Fine Arts Festival being held in the church. This event will showcase the wonderful musical abilities of our Advanced and Beginning Bands, the School Choir and the Ukulele Club. The 4th graders will also be playing their recorders. The Speech team will present some of their speeches, the event starts at 6:30 PM in the church. We hope you can participate in this wonderful evening.

Friday, May 31st Beach Day! We are also celebrating St. Phil’s 60th birthday!

? Students can break out their brightest Hawaiian shirts or most colorful beach t-shirt, sunglasses and shorts. Sun dresses are fine on this day but NO swimsuits. Students need to wear sneakers because we will be playing games in the afternoon.

? 8th Grade Baccalaureate Mass- 8:45 AM, after Mass will have the new Student Council swearing in ceremony.

? All students get a free hot lunch today. Everybody will enjoy popcorn chicken, mozzarella sticks, fruit kabobs, potato smiles and birthday cake.

? There will be games and activities for the students in the afternoon to celebrate our 60th birthday!

? Last chance for the Used Book Sale.

Athletic shorts are allowed only during Spirit Week. Students may not wear cut-offs, tank tops/spaghetti straps, mini-skirts, or spandex type fashions. Shirts, sweatshirts and dresses must cover the shoulders. No exposure of the mid-drift. Sweatpants, this includes yoga pants, or any other types of sweatpants are not allowed.
