Scrip Family Requirements
Scrip Program
SCRIP is a program in which families purchase gift cards through St. Philomena School to be used at participating retailers. The school buys these gift cards at a discounted rate and sells them at face value. The difference between the purchase price and face value is the amount earned by the school and is referred to as the “rebate earned.”
A wide variety of gift cards are available, including gas, groceries, department stores, retail shops, restaurants, entertainment, airlines, hotels, and car rentals. Gift cards are offered in both physical and electronic formats. E-gift cards may be printed at home or displayed on a smartphone for use at participating retailers.
Each family is required to purchase SCRIP to generate a minimum of $250.00 in revenue for St. Philomena School. Families who do not meet this minimum will be billed the difference between the revenue generated and $400.00 by May 31, 2027.
Once a current school family exceeds the $250 SCRIP revenue obligation, all additional SCRIP earnings will be split 50/50 between the school and the family. The school retains 50%, and 50% is applied toward the family’s tuition for the following school year.
